Abstract:

An efficient and mild methodology for rapid and efficient synthesis of isatin Schiff bases was described under microwave irradiation and solvent free condition.aromatic or heterocyclic Primary amines and isatin could be selectively reacted under microwave irradiation into the corresponding isatin Schiff bases in high yields and short reaction time.

synthesis and characterization of some macrocyclic schiff bases

Synthesis of some new bis-Schiff bases of isatin and 5-fluoroisatin in a water suspension medium.

Condensation of aromatic primary bis-amines with isatin (1H-indole-2,3-dione) and 5-flouroisatin occurred cleanly and efficiently in a water suspension medium without using any organic solvent or acid catalyst. The corresponding bis-Schiff bases were obtained in good yields and were easily isolated by filtration. Their structures were confirmed by (1)H-NMR, (13)C-NMR, IR and mass spectra.

Anticonvulsant activity of Schiff bases of isatin derivatives.

Schiff bases of N-methyl and N-acetyl isatin derivatives with different aryl amines have been synthesized and screened for anticonvulsant activities against maximal electroshock (MES) and subcutaneous metrazole (ScMet). N-methyl-5-bromo-3-(p-chlorophenylimino) isatin (2) exhibited anticonvulsant activity in MES and ScMet with LD50 > 600 mg kg(-1), showing better activity than the standard drugs...

Synthesis, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activity evaluation of some new bis-Schiff bases of isatin and their derivatives.

Twelve new bis-Schiff bases of isatin, benzylisatin and 5-fluoroisatin 3a-3l were prepared by condensation of isatin, benzylisatin and 5-fluoroisatin with primary aromatic amines. The chemical structures of the products were confirmed by 1H- and 13CNMR, IR and mass spectral data. The compounds were screened for antiviral activity against a panel of DNA and RNA viruses. Minimum cytotoxic and min...

Synthesis and pharmacological activities of hydrazones, Schiff and Mannich bases of isatin derivatives.

Schiff bases and phenyl hydrazone of isatins were prepared by reacting isatin and the appropriate aromatic primary amine/hydrazines. A new series of the corresponding N-mannich bases were synthesized by reacting them with formaldehyde and diphenylamine. The chemical structures were confirmed by means of their 1H-NMR, IR spectral data and elemental analysis. The compounds were screened for analg...

Synthesis of some new Schiff bases of Pharmaceutical Interest

A series of Schiff bases of diphenylamine derivatives have been synthesized and evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activity against pathogenic both Gram-positive bacteria B. subtilis and Gram-negative bacteria E. coli using ciprofl oxacin as standard drug at conc. of 50 μg/ml and 100 μg/ml. The structures of these compounds were established on the basis of IR and 1H-NMR spectral analysi...
